This month brought us one of the better, and longest (3.5 hours!), meals we’ve had in the FWDC.

  1. I have to agree – this was some of the best food we’ve had in all of our 46 dinners. Hats off to David Cook, the owner/chef of Daveed’s!
    For me, I have to give particular mention to the Halibut – so perfectly prepared – plus the wonderfully savory Chipotle Butter, and the Grapefruit Sorbet intermezzo, which was sublimely palate cleaning and just plain left me feeling good. And….. the Truffle Fries were worth every bit of violating my 20-year-long ‘No French Fry’ rule!
    The wait staff, including the sommelier, were very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating, but I do think they were dealing with the restaurant version of a “Perfect Storm”, where Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurant Week collided with both Daveed’s Burgers & Beer Night, and FW Dinner Club. Hence, 3.5 hours for dinner without dessert!
    I will definitely return to Daveed’s many, many times, and will not care if it takes the entire evening, but I will specifically ask not to sit in the front booth with the gestapo heat lights and spine altering support bar.
